School...For the Whole Family

Well, here in our 'great' state of California, we are not opening our schools (at least in our school district) this upcoming school year. Our school district was offering a 100% online learning, or hybrid, which is only half days like four days a week, and kind of like a block schedule. Odd periods on these days, even periods on those days, etc. We said NO. What we decided to do this year is online public school. It's through www.k12.com. Our school is CAVA, which is California Virtual Academy. It's a pretty popular platform, and it's recognized nationally, which is nice. We will be getting our kids' equipment and supplies via UPS within the next three to four days. They each get a laptop, a printer, and tons of work book assignments. Our oldest is even getting a microscope for Science class. Mom is excited, kids are excited (some nervous), and I am all for it. As for me, Dad, I am back at work full time. For the love of Vomit!

While I've sat here for a few days thinking of topics I could post on here, being a new blogger and all, our three year old provided the perfect one tonight. (it's 12:15 am as I type this out....). We were up late with our eleven year old, tucking her in, made sure she was comfortable, and had a couple of lasts laughs before sleep. Well, our three year old walked in, and said she didn't feel well, her tummy hurt. So she snuggled up on me on our leather computer chair for about two or three minutes, and then BOOM. SHE PUKED! I continued to hold her as she tried to escape the fountain coming from her mouth. I really didn't want her to become a human sprinkler in her sister's bedroom at 11:00 pm. Mom grabbed her from me and put her on the hard vinyl floor to make for an easier clean up.  So here I stood, half covered in puke from Mom's homemade chili; (which was really good by the way). Mom is standing over/to the side of our three year old as she finishes up vomit...
